Educating human rights at the Academy of Journalism and Communication: current situation and solutions

Abstract: Awareness of human rights plays a crucial role in enhancing societal awareness, thereby preventing and minimizing human rights violations. Current practices show that educating human rights in universities is important in guiding and enhancing students' awareness of the high humanitarian values of human rights, thereby promoting actions to implement and protect human rights. Along with collective efforts, universities in general and the Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) in particular have begun to incorporate human rights education into teaching for certain majors. However, the achieved results are not yet satisfactory. This article identifies the current situation and proposes fundamental solutions to promote human rights education at the AJC in the near future.
