Proud Legacy: Generations of Journalists Nurtured by the Academy of Journalism and Communication
At the ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and the conferment of the Ho Chi Minh Order held on the morning of June 21, 2025, at the National Convention Center, two distinguished representatives of generations of journalists trained by the Academy shared their unwavering belief, responsibility, and aspirations for continued service.
Prof. Dr. Tạ Ngọc Tấn, an alumnus of the Academy’s second journalism cohort, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, and former Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, shared emotionally:
"No profession demands as much integrity as journalism. Growing up under the roof of the Academy, I carry with me not only knowledge but also the ideals, aspirations, and sense of responsibility that have guided my professional life.”
Journalist Nguyễn Thị Ngân, a graduate of the 26th cohort majoring in Television and currently a reporter at the News Department of Vietnam Television (VTV), representing the younger generation of journalists, also shared her pride:
"We have always wished to be among those quiet, humble individuals who are trusted and loved by the people. That is the greatest reward for a journalist.”
From the pioneering generation who laid the foundations to the thousands of students who continue the journey today, the Academy of Journalism and Communication takes pride in empowering journalists who are not only skilled but also deeply responsible. Regardless of position or circumstance, journalists bearing the Academy’s mark strive to uphold the virtues of “sharp vision, pure heart, and incisive pen”—to live kindly, write truthfully, and devote themselves wholeheartedly to the nation and its people./.
