In this historic moment, the nation’s revolutionary press faces profound and transformative changes. Vietnam is entering a new phase of development, marked by a complex mix of opportunities and challenges. In this historic moment, the nation’s revolutionary press faces profound and transformative changes. The strategic goals, tasks, and solutions pursued by the entire Party, people, armed forces, and political system to ensure national progress in this new era are not only the subject but also the mission and responsibility of the media and journalists.

The revolutionary mission includes reforms in the political system's organizational structure, administrative unit restructuring, and local government reorganization to eliminate bottlenecks, enhance decentralization, and foster new development spaces. It also encompasses breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation to drive new growth engines and global competitiveness. Furthermore, it reflects Vietnam’s deeper and more proactive international integration; its heavy responsibility in safeguarding the Fatherland at an early stage and from afar; and the effort to ensure peace and stability for development. It includes the protection of citizens’ freedom, democracy, and human rights, in accordance with the Constitution, domestic laws, and international standards that Vietnam recognizes and upholds.

In light of this context and these objectives, every media agency and journalist in Vietnam is called upon to innovate in thinking, perception, and practical action. The goal is to advance a press system that is more revolutionary, professional, modern, and humane—worthy of the proud 100-year tradition of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism that was founded, guided, and trained by President Hồ Chí Minh. This press tradition has been nurtured and supported by the Party and State, and trusted, assisted, and accompanied by the people.

The Party and State consistently affirm that Vietnam’s revolutionary press is an integral part of the Party’s ideological and cultural work, as well as of the cause of national construction and defense. Our journalism places national interests, the happiness and prosperity of the people, and the goals of a wealthy, strong, democratic, equitable, and civilized nation at its core.

Every revolution begins with a transformation in production methods, workforce structure, productivity, quality, and efficiency. The pressure of digital transformation presents a major challenge—and even a harsh test—for journalism. While traditional journalism retains its value and should continue to be nurtured, it must adapt alongside modern methods and platforms for information delivery. Artificial intelligence cannot replace the courage, integrity, compassion, and community-driven spirit of journalists. Technology brings new vitality, a fresh look, and new working methods to journalism, but it cannot substitute human thinking, personalization, and style—nor can it replace journalism that is created by humans, for humans, and for communities.

The new era, a time of revolutionary change, demands new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and new methods of communication—approaches that must be progressive, humane, and led by revolutionary journalism. Today’s media consumers expect not only fast and engaging information, but also accuracy, integrity, verification, analysis, and constructive, multidimensional forecasting. Outdated thinking that may have sustained media organizations until now must be replaced with new driving forces for development. Digital platforms and technological revolutions are fundamentally reshaping how journalists work. Every global movement is intertwined with domestic realities; in this boundless digital space, national identity must coexist with global integration. Distinctiveness and uniqueness become essential cultural values in the global human community.

In this context, journalism must not only convey the Party’s directions and the State’s policies, but also be courageous and responsible in offering criticism and dialogue to seek truth and promote cultural and ethical values. It must uphold Truth, Goodness, and Beauty while standing firm against wrongdoings, moral decline, corruption, and negativity. These vivid realities require every journalist, editorial board, and press association—irrespective of local or central—to embrace change and continuous improvement.

Comrade Nguyễn Trọng Nghĩa, Head of the Central Commission for Communication and Education, emphasized: “The 100-year journey of Vietnam's revolutionary press has been marked by efforts, achievements, lessons learned, challenges, and aspirations. On this solemn occasion, we, the revolutionary journalists, are honored and proud to affirm that throughout the past century, Vietnamese journalism has remained steadfast and devoted in serving the noble revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, and in serving the people. We now enter the next 100 years with ambition, determination, and great effort to fulfill the trust placed in us by the Party, the State, and the people—contributing to a new era for our country. We strive for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam—advancing steadily toward socialism and standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world, as envisioned by President Hồ Chí Minh and long cherished by our people.”
