National Press Festival 2025: Honoring 100 Years of Revolutionary Vietnamese Journalism
The National Press Festival 2025, themed “Vietnamese Press – Loyal, Creative, Courageous, and Innovative for the Cause of National Construction and Defense”, takes place from June 19 to June 21, 2025, in Hanoi. The event is organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association under the direction of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Education and the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
Issues posed to propagandists’ activities in the context of social media development in Vietnam today
Abstract: The strong development of social media poses requirements as well as establishes premises and conditions for the innovation process of oral propaganda and the activities of propagandists. One of the manifestations of innovation is the emergence and development of online methods and the rational combination of online and offline modes, thereby enabling oral propaganda to innovate more in terms of methods. The idea of taking advantages of information technology and social media to form online oral propaganda methods is posing issues in understanding the trajectory, methods of innovation in oral propaganda, impact of this innovation process on the activities of propagandists, information security, information orientation, management of propagandist activities, policies of use and recruitment of dedicated propagandists for oral propaganda work.

Abstract: Copyright in Vietnam has been specifically regulated in the Civil Code of 2015, the Intellectual Property Law of 2005 (amended in 2009, 2019, and 2022). The creative activity of the author is the most important factor, the basis for the author's ownership rights, and is also the foundation for society to recognize the various benefits the author brings to their work. The researcher conducted a survey on the current status of copyright in press photography in Vietnam in three electronic newspapers, addressing two issues: Press photo works do not clearly demonstrate the author's creativity and editorial offices use photos without crediting the author. Consequently, three basic solutions are proposed to minimize violations of press photography copyrights.

Abstract: Government communication plays an increasingly crucial role in building a transparent, accountable, and people-centric government. The demands on government communication are becoming more stringent and comprehensive, closely linked to the process of democratizing social life. Government communication establishes relationships and bridges between the government and the people. In the current context, alongside harnessing inherent strengths and intelligence, Vietnam needs to learn from the experiences of countries worldwide. This will help in formulating its own policies, strategies, and models. This article presents the experiences of the United Kingdom, Canada, and the Netherlands, providing suggestions for government communication in Vietnam.

Abstract: The digital transformation of the press has become an inevitable trend in media organizations. Essentially, the digital transformation of the press involves applying increasingly modern technology to media activities, enhancing the digital media ecosystem with new and superior features, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of communication. However, the digital transformation of the press is a new and challenging activity to implement because media organizations need to rely heavily on technology and new human resources during their operations. Nevertheless, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and current situation of competitive information, good content alone is not enough. There is a need to create new experiences for readers through digital technology applications. The article analyzes some issues related to the digital transformation of the press and the methods of building a converged newsroom in the present context.

However, in today's context, under the influence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, consumers make not only direct purchases but also online ones because they are now online consumers. The challenge for communication professionals is to understand their online behavior, understand the context, the influencing factors on the online platform in order to provide them with different experiences amidst a sea of information and create long-term value for both sides.

Some issues in the translation publishing activities in Vietnam today
Abstract: Translation publishing (TP) in our country in recent years has made significant progress, but there still exist issues that need to be addressed. For example, it lacks balance between the structure of translated genres, translation languages, and the ratio between forward and backward translations. Remuneration for collaborator translators is a barrier to creating input materials for TP. Regarding translation quality, there are still translated books that do not meet the quality standards. The phenomenon of unauthorized translations, counterfeit books, and pirated books has been persistent for many years and shows no signs of improvement.

Abstract: In the publishing industry, digital transformation and the application of digital technology are gradually being implemented to adapt to new requirements. Digital transformation in publishing is carried out in all stages, from creating works, refining content, selecting production technology, marketing and communication methods for products, to managing the product supply chain in the publishing market. It affects not only publishing organizations or businesses but also other groups such as customers and partners. This is a complex process, influenced by various both positive and negative factors.
The Current Situation Regarding Public Access to Media and Information on the Topic of Domestic Violence Prevention
Abstract: Domestic violence refers to one type of gender-based violence in which violence is a means and also a consequence of demeaning women and gender inequality. Domestic violence prevention continues to be regarded as a priority in the national development strategy. Communication is identified as playing a key and long-term role. It is important to assess the actual situation of public access to media and information on domestic violence prevention today in order to suggest effective communication solutions. This article uses the results of the 2020-2021 ministerial-level project “The role of mass media in domestic violence prevention and control in Vietnam’s international integration period today”’ conducted by the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

Viewing storytelling through images as a method of creative content, it is the seamless integration of three elements: digital content, digital technology, and digital art within a journalistic work. In this article, the author focuses on clarifying the concept, characteristics, and initial recognition of some methods of storytelling through images in the creative content of journalism works.
