Memorable Field Trips at the Turns of History
As the center for educating human resources for political communication, journalism and publishing, the Central School for Political Communication has always put an emphasis on the link between theory and practice in order to train the officials, who keep in touch with social changes and inform the community. On the 57th anniversary of the Central School for Political Communication, which is now the Academy of Journalism and Communication (16.1.1962 - 16.1.2019), Tran Ba Lan, former dean of Journalism recalled, analyzed and confirmed the value of historical field trips by the lecturers of the Central School for Political Communication when the country was at the turn of the history: changing from peace to wartimel with the start of the Gulf of Tonkin incident on 5.8.1964 and when the South was fully liberated, unifying the country as a whole.

On the basis of analyzing religious beliefs, scientific beliefs and characteristics of Vietnamese students, the article argues for a number of solutions to build and strengthen the trust of students in the country today. These are: renewing the teaching content of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought and our Party's policies; improving training quality, requiring students to grasp the opportunities and challenges in the current process of national construction and defense; educating students to always act by the people and serve the people.

Abstract: During the development process, the philosophy has been shaped and developed, imbued with the guidelines and strategies for training and fostering cadres of the Party and State as well as in accordance with learners and specific conditions of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) throughout historical periods. The article gives an overview of the HCMA's philosophy of training and fostering in recent years. Moreover, it proposes some recommendations to thoroughly grasp this philosophy in HCMA training and fostering programs today.
