Research into the conditions and needs for online learning of the students in International Programme at the Academy of Journalism and Communication
When the Covid-19 pandemic continued to get worse, online learning became a requirement for the Academy of Journalism and Communication. Although emerging from objective requirements, online learning is not naturally accepted by the students. It depends on students’ physical and spiritual conditions as well as the support from the educational institutions to help the students accommodate themselves to the new learning method. The survey with students in International Programme of the Academy of Journalism and Communication showed that, the vast majority of students have necessary conditions for online learning but not all of them are ready for this new learning method.

On the basis of analyzing religious beliefs, scientific beliefs and characteristics of Vietnamese students, the article argues for a number of solutions to build and strengthen the trust of students in the country today. This capability is not an inherent trait but is developed within the educational environment where policies, resources, curricula, and teaching methods aim to foster autonomy. It is manifested through metacognitive skills, cognitive skills, and social-emotional skills. Thereby, the article proposes suggestions to improve students' autonomy.
