Abstract: A conflict of interest in public service activities occurs when personal interests of a public official negatively interfere with the discharge of his or her obligations and duties. Depending on each country, controlling conflicts of interest aims to manage some or all of the interests in public affairs, and consider the execution of public officials' tasks and obligations. The article enriches the theory of controlling conflicts of interest in public service activities and its significance to Vietnam today.

Abstract: In recent years, student counseling and support activities have become significant and have been paid more attention to by the Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC). Although it plays a vital role in the training process and has received much attention, it still has many limitations and has not met the practical requirements. The study of this issue will help to find solutions to improve the effectiveness of the student counseling and support activities at AJC.

Abstract: Since the end of December 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a strong and profound impact in every aspect of social life, including education. In the context of the serious outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, online training of subjects in general and political theory subjects in particular is considered an effective solution. To adapt to the new conditions, the Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) implemented online teaching and learning. The article mentions advantages as well as difficulties and challenges when applying online training in political theory subjects for students at AJC. It also proposes some basic solutions to improve the quality of online political theory education at AJC in the context that the Covid-19 pandemic has not been completely controlled.

Abstract: The national innovative startup ecosystem is gradually improving, creating a connection between the community and the whole society and promoting the country's socio-economic development. Within that ecosystem, universities play an important role in providing, connecting, and fostering innovative entrepreneurship. In recent years, a number of universities in Hanoi have been at the forefront in building models to support start-up activities and have created a good environment to nurture and develop students’ startup ideas. From these experiences, it is possible to propose some solutions to promote creative start-ups at the Academy of Journalism and Communication in the coming time.

Engaging people with the public policy process has an important role in upholding their central position in country development strategies. People participate in the public policy process as the administrator of building, executing , and assessing policies. In every phase of the public policy process, people’s engagement is crucial in helping improve transparency and effectiveness of the State in managing policies. In this article, the author clarifies the participation of the people in the public policy process, and suggests solutions to continue their engagement with the public policy process.

Abstract: Beside teaching methods and content, assessment is a vital element in the teaching program. Assessment plays a role in measuring and evaluating teaching and learning effectiveness as well as providing feedback to adjust programs and activities. Although the innovation of teaching methods and curriculum content has long been a priority in higher education reform, improvement in assessment is still not given enough attention. Ensuring that the forms and methods of assessment are consistent with the subject learning outcomes is one of the urgent requirements to guarantee the correct measurement of learning results and to orient the teaching and learning process.
Promoting roles and responsibilities of Party members in defending the Party's ideological foundation in cyberspace nowadays
During the process of leading the revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam has determined that the Party's ideological building is the key issue that directly relates to the survival of the Party. The good implementation of the Party's ideological building not only improves the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and party members but also well exercises the principle of democratic centralism and helps unify the will and actions in each party organization. During the 4.0 industrial revolution, hostile forces use evil-minded conspiracies to oppose the Party's leadership role and propagate against the Party's ideological foundation. Therefore, beside launching movements throughout the Party and promoting roles and responsibilities of Party members, it is essential to defend and promote Party's ideology to effectively fight against wrong and hostile views, especially in cyberspace.

Abstract: Journalism is a crucial means of mass communication in social life. It not only reflects reality by delivering the most up-to-date and accurate information on current domestic and international issues, orienting information and public opinion, but also plays a function of social supervision and criticism. Moreover, in the context of national reform and strong international integration, the press’s role in providing information, orientation, social supervision and criticism becomes more important than ever. This article clarifies some theoretical and practical issues of the press in performing the function of social supervision and criticism as a means to promote socialist democracy and ensure people's roles as owners of society in the new situation.
