Applying multimedia communication in providing information about the current Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract: Covid-19 pandemic outbroke in Wuhan, China and quickly became a global pandemic, which took numerous life in the world. According to John Hopkins University, up to now, more than 116 million cases of Covid-19 infection have been discovered, in which more than 2.5 million people died and almost 10 million people recovered. According to a survey on Business Insider (US), Vietnam ranked second in the world with regards to the effectiveness in controlling the pandemic. This paper explored the application of multimedia communication in the fight against Covid-19 in Vietnam from December 2019 until now (February 2021).

Role of higher education institutions in national innovation – international experiences and policy implications for Vietnam

Abstract: This article analyzes the pivotal role of higher education institutions within the national innovation ecosystem. Modern universities are no longer confined to traditional teaching roles, but also serve as nuclei for knowledge creation, technology transfer, and the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation. In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, particularly with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, the role of higher education has become even more critical. Drawing on successful models from the United States, Germany, Israel, South Korea, Singapore, and China, the article clarifies the functional pillars of higher education in shaping modern knowledge-based economies. Based on this analysis, the study proposes several breakthrough policy recommendations for Vietnam to maximize the potential of its universities, especially in the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW and No. 71-NQ/TW.

Digital transformation in higher education: analysis of the current situation and solutions for applying AI in students’ learning activities at Academy of Journalism and Communication

Abstract: Today, digital transformation in higher education has become a strategic priority. However, due to varying conditions, students’ use of artificial intelligence (AI) mainly remains at a basic level of learning activities. At the same time, concerns have been raised about the risks of limiting independent thinking and fostering overreliance on technology. This article analyzes the current situation of using AI in students’ learning activities, based on a survey of 624 students at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, to propose optimal solutions. The results reveal the level of awareness and usage of AI in learning, as well as the benefits of its application. The paper also suggests specific measures to maximize AI’s advantages and promote responsible technology use, thereby advancing a learner-centered and holistic educational model.

Abstract: In the context of the rapid development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, journalism and communication have evolved beyond mere information dissemination to become a digital technology-driven industry deeply influenced by scientific and technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). In response to this profound transformation, the application of modern technologies in the training and professional development of journalism and communication personnel in Vietnam has become an urgent and strategic requirement for the sustainable modernization of the national journalism sector. This article provides an overview of AI, Big Data, and IoT, analyzes and evaluates the current state of their application in journalism and communication training in Vietnam, and proposes feasible solutions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of training in the context of accelerated digital transformation.
