Abstract: In the current period, building the Party in terms of morality plays a particularly important role and has both theoretical and practical significance. This is one of the decisive factors in improving the Party's leadership capacity and fighting capacity so that the Party is truly pure, strong and worthy of the people's trust. However, looking at the current situation, we must seriously admit that some party cadres and party organizations still reveal limitations and weaknesses. The article points out the degradation of ideology, morality and lifestyle, thereby suggesting some basic methods to raise awareness of party organizations and members in building the party in terms of morality in Vietnam today.

Abstract: Greatly influenced by his father's studious example, growing up in the homeland known as "the land of talented and knowledgeable people", inheriting the predecessors’ viewpoint about "opening the people’s minds", along with his knowledge and experience of a world cultural celebrity and a prominent educator, Ho Chi Minh in the process of revolutionary activities established a system of rich and comprehensive viewpoints about raising people's knowledge (goals, conditions, subjects, objects, contents and measures). As the product of a brilliant mind and immense benevolent heart, each viewpoint in Ho Chi Minh's legacy on raising people's intellectual capacity still maintains being topical and valuable because of its unique features.

Therefore, it is now urgent to strengthen educating the Party's guidelines for cadres, party members and people. It will contribute to consolidating their revolutionary viewpoints; improving their political will and revolutionary morality; providing them with methods and skills to identify and fight against wrong and hostile views.

Abstract: People create culture while culture is developed by people, for people and serving people. In the current new context, “the role of culture in human development has not been properly defined. There is a tendency to focus importance on only entertainment functions. There is a lack of great cultural, literary and artistic works which vividly reflect the scale of the renewal process and have positive effects on people”. Therefore, understanding Ho Chi Minh's basic views on culture is very necessary and urgent in order to build a socialist culture to meet the goals of “rich people; a powerful country; a fair, democratic and civilized society”.

Abstract: In 2019, the communist parties in various countries commemorated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist International in various ways and discoursed the possibility of international alliances in the new era. In socialist countries, China solemnly celebrated the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the May Fourth Movement and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, and North Korea continued to promote reforms and lay out new developments through the revision of constitutions and the establishment of legislation. Most of the non-ruling communist parties tried to change their strategies of struggle. Meanwhile, socialist thoughts also rose in Europe and America. However, in the context of the rise of the “New Cold War” mentality, the developments of most western communist parties are still on a downward path. In 2020, with the spread of COVID-19, the superiority of the socialist system was further manifested, and the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind became more popular.

Throughout his life, Hồ Chí Minh devoted himself to the cause of national liberation and the struggle for people’s happiness. He knew how to absorb the quintessence of different cultures from both East and West. Thanks to this acculturation of different trends of thought in the spiritual heritage of humanity, Hồ Chí Minh’s thought has been the lodestar guiding Vietnam to gain national independence, unify the whole country and bring the life of freedom, well-being and happiness to the people. It also contributes to stabilize the world, develop friendship among nations and bring about social progress and the development of humanity.

The Communist Party of Vietnam – A Decisive Factor in Vietnam’s Revolution Victories
Abstract: On February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was born. Under the founding and training of leader Nguyễn Ái Quốc, later to become President Hồ Chí Minh, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has steered the Vietnamese revolutionary boat to overcome harsh challenges and as a result won great victories. From a country colonized by French colonial empire, Vietnam became a unified, independent country built and developed towards socialism. From people who lost country and suffered from slavery under both colonial and feudal oppression, the Vietnamese people became the master of their country with their lives comprehensively improved. From a country with more than 4,000 years of history but no name on the world map, Vietnam has increasingly enhanced its position and prestige in the international arena and integrated deeply into the modern world. All these great achievements are inseparable from the CPV’s leadership role as a decisive factor which is expressed as follows: paving the way for the Vietnamese revolution; creatively applying Marxism-Leninism to set the right and wise path for the Vietnamese revolution; and organizing the successful implementation of the Vietnamese revolution’s tasks.

Abstract: Currently many hostile forces and political opportunists seek to deny the path to socialism in Vietnam as well as deny that today’s era is the era of socialism on a worldwide scale. This is an extremely malicious plot of reactionary forces against the Party and against the socialist regime in our country. If hostile and reactionary forces make people lose faith in the path to socialism, it also means they have shaken the goal of going up to socialism in our country. Therefore, although this is an issue that has been mentioned and affirmed since the early days of the Vietnamese revolution in the early 20th century, it still needs to be further affirmed, supplemented and developed in the current period. This is especially true in the current situation in which the world is undergoing many changes with new development trends, opportunities and challenges which are complexly intertwined.

Promoting the role of publishing political theory books to fight against wrong and hostile views
Publishing political theory books is a task under the direct leadership of the Party Central Committee. After more than 20 years implementing Directive No. 20-CT/TW dated 27th January 2003 of the 9th-tenure secretariat, the task has basically met the demand for political theory books of officials, party members and people. It has become a channel for disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. Also, it has made an important contribution to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views. The publications’ contents have far-reaching influence on theoretical and political issues, raising political awareness of party members to firmly trust the leadership of the Party and State.

Abstract: Russian October Revolution of 1917 was the event of greatest international significance in the twentieth century, strongly influencing the world revolution, encouraging and promoting the self-liberation struggle of the working class, the oppressed peoples and the progressive humanity. For the international communist and workers' movements, the victory of the Russian October Revolution created a trend of combining Marxism with the workers' movement, establishing proletarian political parties in Asia. Therefore, the Russian October Revolution played an important role in preparing conditions, both in theory and organization, for the rallying of proletarian revolutionary forces on a worldwide scale.

Abstract: Building a close relationship between the Party and the people based on Ho Chi Minh's thought is a principle clearly demonstrating the nature of the Communist Party which always struggles for the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the working class and fight for the interests of the entire working people and the whole nation. The Party-people close relationship is the source of strength and also an important building content of a Marxist Party. In order to further strengthen this relationship, it is necessary to pay more attention to Party building and rectification, especially in terms of morality.

Abstract: Fighting and preventing corruption and negativity is one of the necessary tasks to clean up the Party. Abstract: With its functions and tasks, the Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) plays a very important role in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views. Thanks to the initiative, positivity and creativity of its Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the staff, the dynamism and enthusiasm of the students, AJC has achieved positive results during the past time. However, this task at AJC still has limitations and inadequacies because of objective and subjective reasons, posing a number of problems that need practical solutions to improve its efficiency in the coming time.

In addition to the opportunities, globalization poses challenges for selecting and constructing the system of spiritual values for Vietnam. The author discusses the solutions for these challenges such as positioning the value system of Vietnam in the current context; forecasting the changes in spiritual phenomena under the influence of globalization; promptly and actively construct the value system by inheriting and modernizing the traditional table of values, integrating international values, which are suitable for the development of the country.
