Abstract: In the context of globalization, the spiritual value system of Vietnam has undergone a dramatic transformation in the interweavement of old and new, domestic and foreign, universal and special, popular and unique, existing and thriving values. In addition to the opportunities, globalization poses challenges for selecting and constructing the system of spiritual values for Vietnam. The author discusses the solutions for these challenges such as positioning the value system of Vietnam in the current context; forecasting the changes in spiritual phenomena under the influence of globalization; promptly and actively construct the value system by inheriting and modernizing the traditional table of values, integrating international values, which are suitable for the development of the country.

To promote the vanguard role of Party members in the Vietnamese working class in today’s era, each Party member is required to take the leading position in all activities, achieving success in all aspects of political theory, practice, morality, and lifestyle in the building of the Party’s organizations and the application of assigned tasks in their workplace. In addition, it is necessary for them to develop an advanced contingent of workers, who will contribute to the fulfillment of national industrialization and modernization, building the Party and developing the personnel for the political system.

Abstract: In the process of leading the revolution, President Ho Chi Minh demonstrated an exemplary and effective scientific working style in implementing tasks of Party and State, properly and satisfactorily dealing with relationships among different objects. His scientific working style was reflected in close examination to understand specific situations of reality. He worked with clear goals, plans and appropriate methods. He strictly followed working principles but had flexible methods in combination with examination, monitoring and learning from experience. The study of Ho Chi Minh's scientific working style is of great significance for cadres and party members to complete all assigned tasks and improve their working quality.

The article focuses on clarifying the domestic and international context affecting the goal of national independence and socialism in our country today. On that basis, it proposes to build conditions to maintain national independence and socialism as instructed by Ho Chi Minh.

Abstract: At the beginning of the twentieth century, misrepresentation of Marxism became a common thing as opportunistic leaders and socialists - chauvinists made every attempt to oppose Marxism, especially the issues of state government. Therefore, V.I. Lenin set out the task of criticizing wrong and hostile views, restoring Marx's genuine theory of the state. The task began 100 years ago but still retains its historical values, including ones related to issues such as dictatorship of the proletariat, democracy, anti-bureaucracy and corruption.

Abstract: Since its birth, the Communist Party of Vietnam has been called with an intimate name "our Party". This is the fundamental reason to every victory of the revolution that our Party has been gaining.

Management of sustainable social development: content and evaluation criteria
Abstract: Management of sustainable development is an important issue for all countries. Having a dialectical relationship with maintaining social order and stability, it can minimize and prevent risks of social conflicts, promote sustainable socio-economic development, thereby improve the material and spiritual life of the people. For the Vietnamese political system, management of sustainable social development is also a goal-oriented value that reflects the nature of a people-based, human-centered, all-for-people social system, "leaving no one behind". Therefore, choosing social management tools correctly and sustainably is one of the pillars for the process of realizing the socialist-oriented model in our country. From this perception, the article focuses on clarifying the object, content and evaluation criteria for sustainable social development management in the current period.

Abstract: Defending the Party’s ideological foundation, fighting against false and hostile views will be effective if stemming from genuine patriotic hearts, strong faith in victory of the road to socialism construction and gratitude to generations who have devoted and sacrificed to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, to the people's well-being and happiness. It should not be perfunctory and should avoid the situation that actions speak louder than words.

Abstract: The Party’s leadership methods are illustrated via 1) guidelines, viewpoints (through resolutions, conclusions, regulations etc.); 2) Party organizations within the apparatus of the political system; 3) exemplary actions of all party members in the society; 4) inspection and supervision of the Party itself and of other organizations, including the supervision and inspection of the people. This article presents Party leadership method via setting good examples of party members.

Communist Review - President Ho Chi Minh repeatedly highlighted the youth’s vital part in national destiny. Accordingly, "the prosperity or poverty, weakness or power of a country are largely attributed to the youth"(1). At any stage of the revolution, under any circumstance, Vietnamese youth spare no efforts to fulfill their historical mission.

The article mentions public opinions related to the role of History subject in the High school curriculum 2018 which is being implemented in the first year. Thereby, it reviews the supervision and communication work of the relevant agencies on the process of developing and promulgating the new High school curriculum. The article affirms the great impact of supervision and communication on the quality and vitality of policies. It puts forward some recommendations to ensure qualified and timely monitoring and communicating during stages of the policy cycle in general as well as the development and issuance of policies in particular.

Abstract: Unlike many political parties in the world, the Communist Party of Vietnam was established not to represent the rights and interests of some groups in society, but to represent the entire nation. Therefore, it has always kept a close relationship with the people. This is the inner strength and the source for all successes of the Party. However, in recent times, hostile forces and political opportunists domestically and abroad have made every attempt to find ways to split this strong relationship. Identifying and fighting these conspiracies and tricks contributes to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, enhancing the Party's strength to continue successfully leading the development of a prosperous and happy country.

Abstract: Academy of Journalism and Communication (AJC) is a Party school as well as a national key university with the mission of conducting scientific research, training and fostering high-quality human resources in the fields of political theory, ideology - culture, Party building and State governance, journalism-communication and a number of other social sciences and humanities. Along with specialized subjects, political theory play an important role in the curriculum, contributing to equipping students with knowledge and skills of defending the Party’s ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views. In recent years, AJC students have played an important role in the fight to protect the Party’s ideological foundation. To meet the requirements and tasks in the coming time, and to strengthen the students' ability in defending the Party ideological foundation, it is necessary to improve the quality of teaching political theory subjects.
