Communist Review - In January 2020 in his remarks to the United Nations General Assembly on the priorities for 2020, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres underlined women’ role in tackling global challenges, particularly women’s participation in women, peace and security (WPS) agenda. It has been 20 years since WPS was initiated by the UN Security Council in 2000, the agenda has now been implemented globally through various programs and activities of the UN as well as member states.
