Abstract: President Ho Chi Minh practiced the complete transition of Vietnamese patriotism from tradition to modernity - patriotism based on the viewpoint of the working class - patriotism connected with socialism. Patriotism in the socialist revolutionary epoch completely inherits and develops the contents of traditional patriotism to a new higher degree in terms of quality. Among these contents, developing the spirit of national solidarity in national construction and defense was always his top priority. Great national unity is a revolutionary approach. Achieving great national unity is the Vietnamese revolution's long-term plan. Ho Chi Minh repeatedly affirmed: Solidarity, solidarity, great solidarity/ Success, success, great success. To achieve this, he offered a perspective on building a great unity of the whole people based on harmonious social relations, collaboration, and mutual development among social classes during the revolutionary period of gaining national independence.

Therefore, environmental protection should be put on par with economic, cultural, and social development. Sustainable development needs to be harmoniously and reasonably based on three pillars, namely sustainable economic development, sustainable social development, and sustainable environmental protection, to bring optimal benefits to people and for people. All of these problems can be found in Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, lifestyle, and attitude towards the environment, which the Party has gradually realized in the policy planning throughout the Congress terms.
